Pastini Pastaria is a locally owned, Portland-based restaurant company started in 2001. Currently there are eight Pastini’s – casual Italian bistros with a passion for pasta – known for genuine hospitality, stellar service and wonderful food made with fresh ingredients.

Front of House & Kitchen Positions

Dishwasher

The Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities such as but not limited to dish washing, pot washing, general and equipment cleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies. Responsible for janitorial duties in various dining services areas such as Dining Room, Server Station, Restrooms and other areas. Responsible for handling all foods, some food preparation; storage and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning and preparation.

  • Actively participate in delivering the Pastini experience.
  • Appropriately dilute chemicals for dish washing machines as needed.
  • Efficiently wash and maintain clean dishes, glassware, flatware, trays, pots and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Properly place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Ensure kitchen work areas, equipment, and tools are clean and in orderly condition.
  • Properly sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas, and clean garbage cans.
  • Efficiently sweep, mop and scrub floors.
  • Appropriately receive, store and transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to stand for long period so time, lift 25 lbs., and bend, climb or work in confined spaces
  • Possess verbal skills for effective communication
  • You must have organizational and time management skills and demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
  • Posses physical ability and stamina to make efficient, simple, repeated movements of the body, arms and/or legs to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects without getting winded or out of breath.
  • Be in adequate physical conditioning for movements required, including but not limited to, bending, stooping, sitting, walking, pulling, pushing, stretching, twisting, reaching or standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Posses near visual acuity to review written documentation and have the ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
  • Understand simple instruction, learn simple procedures and techniques, and perform routine work or the same task over and over again.
  • Be detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed to providing outstanding service every day.
  • Enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work well with other restaurant employees.
  • Work with schedules based around busy meal times, holidays, events and weekends.
